4th Annual TJO Christmas Give Back

TJO Families,
Last season, we found a way to give back through our beloved sport of hockey! We were able to raise almost $7,000 in 2020 to help support The Reed Community Foundation.

100% of the funds go to: The Reed Community Foundation

Coach Reed helps underprivileged kids (age 4-12) in North Tulsa, where he - free of charge - takes care of over 70 kids regularly after school and all day in the summer months. He and his team mentor them, help them with school, run them through consistent workouts, and instill discipline into their lifestyle.  Coach Reed also is the transportation at any time for our School of Hockey program.   Check out the most recent news feature around Coach Reed.

Learn more in this video about the Reed Community Foundation.   Their mission is to provide an environment in which children and youth develop life skills, a strong work ethic, self-discipline, an enlarged spiritual life, and respect for others.

Why do we do this for Coach Reed?

Coach Reed supports our School of Hockey program through transportation to anything that helps the enrichment of our program.  Our program aligns with his focus on physical fitness, life skills, financial wisdom, and positive vision for the future – and he is always selflessly available to help. He works with the kids off-ice each week while instilling manners and respect!  He is amazing and helps so many kids through his foundation!   We want to help him keep his transportation running and expanding!

The players of TJO will have an opportunity to participate in the 4th Annual TJO Giveback via the TJO 10,000 Puck Shootout on Saturday, December 18, 2021.  Each participating player will ask family, friends, neighbors, etc. to donate a specific amount, which will go toward the Reed Community Foundation, and in return, the player will participate in the 10,000 Puck Shootout.

This is a super fun hockey-focused way for the kids to give back to the community & to show support for someone who supports TJO daily!!! We encourage all players to participate!

Here is how our players can participate in the 4th Annual  TJO Christmas Giveback 2021!!!

  • TJO Players participate in the 10,000 Puck Shootout; Saturday, December 18 at the OIC!
  • SHOOT PUCKS! A Player promises to shoot pucks during the allotted time for his/her age group for the 10,000 Puck Shootout.
    • Players can ask for $$ pledges from family, friends, neighbors, etc.
    • Players will then collect the money from sponsors and give the sum collected to the point person for your player's age group.

This is for EVERYONE in TJO! We will give the proceeds check to Coach Reed at the Tulsa Oilers’ Game on Sunday, December 19th!  Game starts at 4pm!

Keep an eye out on our Facebook for updates on our progress as we shoot our way into spreading some Christmas Cheer!
